I have to ask, does this really contradict even that ID claim? That requires
looking at the experiment and arguing 'Just pay no attention to the
scientists creating and manipulating this experiment.'

I'm not saying I agree, mind you, but this looks like a situation where
Steve Meyers would turn around and say that what's being demonstrated here
is design in action. It certainly would establish at least intellectual
credibility to the idea of a directed evolution even at the most fundamental
levels, since ID isn't necessarily hooked to the 'no evolutionary processes'
concept.

In other words, ID is such a broad (too broad?) concept that this experiment
can be viewed as either a mark against a particular ID claim, or a
bolstering of the concept at large.
