My Laminin rebuttal

Bible verse: Colossians 1:17
He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
These are off the top of my head after doing some internet research.
First, yes, the schematic for Laminin looks like the cross. But it is just a molecular schematic. (See google images for the drawing). However, there is no "north." It could just as easily be sideways or upside down. If sideways, a gamer could say it looks like a sword, and validates something for them. In this way, it is kind of like see Mary on the side of an office building. You can also show a microscope picture of Laminin that resembles the cross somewhat... if you pick and choose real well the photo to use (one with the "arms" outstretched and placed nicely.)
Second, what is the point? The speaker seems to imply that the Laminin structure is a sign from God to validate the Bible or something. If the speaker was like Jesus and said "The kingdom of heaven is like..." using Laminin in a similar way as an analogy, then ok. But the speaker seems to take this more literally that the Bible verse is fulfilled by Laminin- or seems to imply that. If the speaker said something like "Laminin holds tissues together like Christ holds everything together" then that would be ok; but to say or imply that Col. 1:17 is somehow fulfilled by laminin is going off the deep end. I don't think he says that, but easily implies it... or maybe he even says it. This is the speaker who also prior showed a picture of a galaxy or supernova, which resembled a cross, and said something about a sign of God in the cosmos... again, it is like seeing Mary on the side of the building. For a rebuttal, a good discussion is "what exactly is Col. 1:17 trying to teac!
h?"
On the positive side, this speaker is bringing some science to the pulpit. Funny how some of his words undermine YEC, but the guy is probably YEC and doesn't even know he's contradicting YEC. For example, saying a certain object in the cosmos is millions of light years away... did it really take the light that long to get here- disproving YEC?

Bernie,
I'd be interested if you could point me to a web-site with a clear
rebuttal of this claim. I've a colleague who describes himself as a
"diehard Creationist" who keeps passing me material from his church.
One of these was the laminin claim, but I didn't at the time have a
clear rebuttal to make a response, and to say "you must be incredibly
gullible to believe that" seemed not to be a charitable response, so I
left it with a "hmm".
