As the Bible has some importance:):) then it does.

The most important thing is to read the bible regularly i.e virtually every
day, and to read all of it in small bits, with a greater emphasis on the NT,
but still reading all the OT.

Exactly how depends on the individual.

Some Bible reading notes are more about the writer's opinions than the Bible
and are useless as they say nothing about the text.

For my self my bread-and-butter reading is to read a psalm, a chapter of OT
and a chunk of NT each weekday. Doing that I get through everything every
two years.

I use commentaries where needed and reference books.

I may also read whole sections, or books in one or a few goes.

I would say ; aim to read the whole bible (including the beginning of
Chronicles ) every two to three years and start again. Having said that find
what suits you best.
