One clue that might be considered as to why Joshua said what he did is the
fact that it actually crossed his mind to be concerned about the moon.
Here is one additional remark about translation. If you have a version
that italicizes words supplied by the translator that were not in the
original, you will note that in verse 13 the word 'down' is in italics.
The word translated 'go' is more frequently translated 'come' in the OT, a
point whose significance is unknown to me.
