There is nothing in the formalism of QM itself that limits its validity to
some "quantum level." & if someone did actually believe that the cat was in
a superposition of live & dead states before the observation was made, how
would you disprove that?
Having said that, I apologize for bringing Schroedinger's feline into the
conversation. If the question is whether or not consciousness plays a role
in the reduction of ther wave packet then it can be discussed in terms of
simple experiments like the double slit or Michelson interferometer without
the extra complications introduced by the cat.
