I note that recent OEC (like Hugh Ross) and adherents to gap theory do
not seem to have a problem with cosmological evolution. In fact, those
holding gap theory often allow for biological evolution before the fall
of Satan with recreation of what was almost identical to the final state
pre-cataclysm in the recreation more or less 6000 years ago. Hominids
pre-cataclysm would not exhibit likeness to God as the newly created Adam
and Eve did.

There are different degrees of evolution among OEC. Hugh Ross holds that
every new creature was introduced at the appropriate time. This allows
for microevolution only. Others hold that God from time to time
introduced new genes to produce new "kinds," which could then evolve with
fewer restrictions.

One variant on TE holds that plants and animals evolved from a life-form
introduced by God. Another holds that God introduced a soul or spirit
into the first human being. These are attempts to eliminate the problems
of the origin of life and the image of God in man. Others disdain such
additions to the science.
