>> Does anyone know the % of people who believe in young earth
creationism? >>
I have seen figures as high as 50% (US) but the question usually relates
to the origins of humanity being recent -- or dinos and humans
coexisting.
A recent (in the past two months) Gallup poll reported:
I 37% disbelieve in evolution
D 40% disbelieve in evolution
R 68% disbelieve in evolution
These seem to be in line with other estimates I have seen.
My own estimate (FWIW) is that the YEC % among persons with a
college/university degree in a science is well below 0.5%. Among persons
with an engineering degree, it is much higher., perhaps as high as 2%.
Among all college/university graduates, perhaps as high as 10%. Among the
population in general, 20%.. However, I claim no special expertise in
this except 25 years of following the subject fairly closely.
