An alternative approach would be to examine books like Zondervan's Counterpoints series, e.g.,
Five Views on Sanctification,
Four Views on Hell,
Five Views on Law and Gospel,
Four Views on the Book of Revelation,
Four Views on Eternal Security,
Two Views on Women in Ministry,
Exploring the Worship Spectrum: Six Views,
Four Views on Salvation in a Pluralistic World,
Three Views on the Millennium and Beyond,
Understanding Four Views on Baptism,
Five Views on Apologetics,
Five Views on Law and Gospel,
Understanding Four Views on the Lord's Supper,
Re-Marriage after Divorce in Today's Church: 3 Views,
Who Runs the Church?: 4 Views on Church Government,
Three Views on the Rapture,
and of course our favorite,
Three Views on Creation and Evolution
Multiplying these would give 9.9 billion possible combinations, which of course is more than the total number of people currently on earth, so that approach doesn't seem to be particularly meaningful.
Perhaps you should just count the number of denominations to make your point. Lists can be found in various places, including web sites, books on denominations and their beliefs, and The World Almanac.
