Additional speculation by him on the topic is found in Miracles. I
think most of the speculation in the trilogy directly relating to
pre-human activities of Satan are in Out of the Silent Planet, in the
context of discussing origins of the current physical state of Mars
(as portrayed in the novel) and spiritual state of Earth. Existence
of predators is discussed some, too.
