The New York Times examines U.S. Sen. John McCain's growing interest in
securing religious-right votes in 2008.

Among McCain's remarks was this: "He said schools should be allowed to
offer "intelligent design" courses as an alternative to evolution, a huge
issue for many conservatives.

It appears that "conservative" means "I support ID." And that is a
winning issue among many voters.

Be you a liberal or conservative, a Republican, Democrat, Green or
Reformed, this is, to me, a disturbing development.
