  So, it is probably a legitimate gnostic "gospel" but to breathlessly conclude like some scholars that it may have been written by Judas is just plain silly.

  Especially since most critical scholars are dubious (often on good grounds) about traditional claims that the canonical gospels were written directly by the apostles Matthew and John and their close associates Mark and Luke.
