This will be my last post on this topic. As for myself, I have nothing to do
with these conspiracy theories and I believe Rush is correct in eschewing
such things. In fact, not falling into these is one of Rush's strong points.
My point is not to debate Rush's opinion -- which I share -- but how
he communicates it. Just like Rush often does, you imputed motivation to
myself that did not exist (viz., I chose to ignore the truth because it
wasn't convenient) and thus falsely accused me. I will now let you in on my
motivation. What I was trying to do was be consistent by using an example
where I believe Rush used the wrong tone even where I agreed with his point.
Throughout my life I have found that one the most dangerous things to do is
to speculate about anyone's motivations.
There is a subtle poison in trying to be witty and sarcastic. I will now
post the full quote so everyone can see if what Rush said is in keeping with
the Ninth Commandment and whether my assessment that Rush has disdain for
freepers is or is not accurate. I post this not only to prove my point, but
more importantly as a negative object lesson on how to deal with people with
whom we disagree. If you are a TE think about the ID person you deal with,
and if you are ID vice versa. Let's ask ourselves this question would we
like to receive this e-mail and have it read to 20 million people? If not,
are there ways that we act just like Rush here? How many times has Terry had
to step in here?

~ Janice ------ *"Ah consensus... the process of abandoning all beliefs,
principles, values and policies in search of something in which no one
believes, but to which no one objects; the process of avoiding the very
issues that have to be solved, merely because you cannot get agreement on
the way ahead. What great cause would have been fought and won under the
banner "I stand for consensus"? * ~ Margaret Thatcher
~ Rich ----- "When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we
endure it; when we are slandered, we answer kindly." ~ The Apostle Paul. It
is my hope and prayer that is what I just did. If anything came across as
harsh or condescending please chalk it up to the hazzards of electronic
communication. May the Lord richly bless you.
