A probable reason is that YECs tend to go a bundle on endtimes, Left Behind
and all that. Thsoe who do tend to believe (contrary to Scripture) that the
endtimes are imminent so if Jesus is going to return in the next 20 years it
wont matter if oil is going to run out in 40.
Also on oil, why dont people drive smaller cars? We are alos getting a
surfiet of SUVs 4WD s for tarmac roads. " years ago in ht eUS I was assured
you needed bigger cars because of grater distances invloved. That is not the
case for most of the USA. Why do you need a car bigger than a 1.8 litre Ford
Contour if you have a family, to us it is a big car and only returns 31mpg
(US galls) overall when you cruise at 80 on motorways. I had to watch the
speed limits in the US!
Oour second car is a Peugeot 106 - real diddy but excellent for what we want
it for.
