Given your statement above, you may be interested in this: Jaroslav Pelikan
has recently edited "Creeds and Confessions of Faith in the Christian
Tradition" (Yale Univ. Press). It's a replacement for the old Schaff volume (late
19th century) with lots of commentary and history by Pelikan. And only $895!
Maybe you can convince your parishioners to buy it for you. A google search
will turn up more info on it.
