A pedantic emendation. There are hydrogen mines, large basins of
hydrogen dioxide. The long-term problem is finding the nonhydrogen energy to
extract the hydrogen.
Pedantry aside, the point is perhaps worth emphasizing in public
discussions where people make reassuring statements about the vast supplies of
hydrogen in the oceans. True - but if it to be used simply to store
energy from
other sources then we've just pushed the problem back another step.
