Of course, my point was not that the MT is an absolutely perfect copy of all
the Hebrew scriptures as they were originally written, but that it is widely
acknowledged to contain far fewer corruptions than the LXX. For that reason,
I said, I think dating Noah's flood with the aid of the chronological
information contained in the MT is a better idea than with that contained in
the LXX.
