Thus the word, "attempt." I was questioning the letter's authenticity. I
have heard anecdotes created to support YECism all too often. This letter
may just be another one suggesting that here is a scientist that found old
earth views no longer tenable, in the hope to lend credence to this view.

Regardless of who the author is, it's hard to see how the "validates"
anything. The lack of any explanation of why radioactive dating supposedly
isn't a "scientific fact, provable by scientific methods" and the naive
assumption about "belieiving early Genesis" that I noted earlier make this
of little value as anything other than autobiography.
