Griffin Notes -- chapter 5
Religion and the Rise of the Modern Scientific Worldview 28 pages
These 18 pages contain Griffin's view of the historical development of today's dominant worldview. Griffin argues that the mechanistic view of nature was not adopted primarily for rational or empirical reasons, but primarily for sociological and theological reasons. Because of this, he argues that the scientific community might better understand and accept the Whiteheadian view.
