During my stays in Amsterdam I often ran into Americans who
gushed about the beauty of the cities and countryside. You could
always stop them dead in their tracks by commenting that "It's
wonderful what central planning can do!" Yes, travel there uses less
oil, and, yes, Canadians often have the same mindset as Americans.
