Position: Assistant Professor of Biology with emphasis in Physiology to begin
Fall 2000.
Program: The Division of Natural Science offers Bachelor of Science Degrees in
biology, environmental science and biochemistry. The department of biology
carries the responsibility for advising pre-medicine students and others
interested in the health care professions. The department also works with the
Division of Teacher Education to offer a Bachelor of Science in Education with
Secondary Certification in Biology and Middle School Certification in Math and
Science.
Role: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in physiology,
human anatomy, introductory biology (for non-majors and honors) and an upper
level course in the applicant’s area of expertise. Additional responsibilities
include academic advisement and committee assignments. Research involvement with
students is highly encouraged.
Qualifications: Doctorate in Physiology required. A broad background in the
sciences is a plus. Expertise and interest in teaching undergraduates is
essential.
Salary: A competitive salary exists which will be commensurate with training
and/or experience.
Important Dates: Position begins Fall 2000. Screening process begins February
15, 2000, and continues until filled.
