There is a new homo erectus reconstruction which can be found at

    http://www.amnh.org/enews/headl/e1_h17b.html

It is made from a male skull which has more parts left of it than the
previous reconstructions. The interesting thing is the way it looks much
more human than previous reconstructions. ONe of the things I learned in
art (way back when I was taking a lot of it) was that the eyes are halfway
between the top of the head and the bottom of the chin. In most
reconstructions erecti and other have a shorter distance between the eyes
and the top of the head than from the eyes to the chin. This
reconstruction makes those proportions much more even and gives a rather
human-like appearance. It also has a flatter facial profile (less
    prognathism) which adds to that.

When you get to the page you need to download the quick time movie (QTVR).
After about 20 minutes of downloading, you can rotate the skull and examine
    it from any direction.
