Yesterday my wife showed me a paragraph that was making its way around
the English dept. at the college where we teach. The paragraph
contained a paraphrase (I guess it was a paraphrase, it wasn't in quotes
in the paragraph nor was a reference cited.) which said that "The
current curator of the Brishis Museum states, 'Of the millions of
fossils we house, not one shows an animal in a transitional state'".
If anyone has any information on this "quote" I would appreciate it
since the teacher seems to want my opinion on the non-English aspects of
the paragraph. It seems similar to other quotes I have seen attributed
to various authorities but I couldn't find anything close in my
collection.
Thanks,
Darryl
