I appreciate Ray Zimmer's post on Aug 22, which takes a philosophical
perspective on the recent debates here. Ray, I hope you write this up as a
full article for the ASA's journal, Perspectives.

But regarding your final question:

I wouldn't worry about that; if you are able to synthesize things as you
have done, it might at least keep some students from sowing more wind.
