Can you cite an article in which Stephen J. Gould told Johnson to 'shut
up'? And I would point out that the fact that Johnson is not trained as an
evolutionary paleontologist is no problem as long a Johnson knows the
subject. But when he makes silly errors like rodents turning into whales,
and using a 20+ year old paleontology text as his prime source for
information, he shows that he really doesn't know the field.
Would you come to me, a geophysicist, for informaiton on brain surgery? Of
course not. I haven't been trained, nor have I studies brain surgery. But
we expect a lawyer who uses out of date material (and only one main source
at that) to really know the field? Give me a break.
