Respecfully allow me to tell you that one thing you have certainly
made clear in this listserv is your very poor understanding of even
the "basics" of the Christian faith. If I may dare to tell you
without meaning offense, according to the Bible it is a sad thing to
waste the time prating about what one does not know. You, as a
professor, should know better before "assuming" and "declaring"
"your" version of Christian belief.
I have bothered to present a few verses below to partly answer your
claim that Christians fear death. If this is your experience you
haven't been around real Christians. Death is painful but not
dreadful to those who have trusted Christ for eternal life.
---------------------------
To me to live is Christ and to die is gain!!!!
Where is your sting oh death?
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor
demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,
neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be
able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our
Lord. Romans 8.
Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How
unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!
ãWho has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?ä
ãWho has ever given to God, that God should repay him?ä For from him
and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory
forever! Amen. Romans 11.
"From this appears that these quibblers with whom I am contending
boldy chatter about things they know nothing of." John Calvin's
Institutes.
