I'm not sure there is a difference between what I'm suggesting and what
you're suggesting, except possibly the role of selection. Any thoughts?

My range of ID reading isn't enough to answer this, but there seems to be
something of a range of views as to what gaps require miracles. I'd be
interested in a better answer than mine to this question.
