William Phillips and YEC in newsprint
James K. Gruetzner (jkgruet@unm.edu)
Mon, 3 Nov 1997 09:50:45 -0700 (MST) In today's Albuquerque Journal, a letter to the editor supporting
the chronology of Bishop Ussher (6000 year old earth) appeared. Linked
in with supporters of YEC (including some at Sandia Nat.Labs and John
Baumgardner at Los Alamos Nat.Lab) was Nobel laureate "William Phillips."
While I had read about Phillips' activities in his home congregation,
I had *not* heard that he had weighed in on the YEC side of the debate.
My suspicion is that the letter-writer was making an unwarranted and
unresearched assumption, due to other problems in his letter, but would
like to find credible information on the matter.
Thanks.
Yours in Christ, | ----Solo Christus----
