If my memory is correct, it was John McIntyre who wrote the article in
CT that you refer to. John is a long-time member and leader of ASA. I
discussed his article with him and made comments very similar to yours in
your post to which I'm replying here. Certainly we who give a high
priority to our relationship with our families and with the Lord will find
it impossible to "worship" our scientific work and devote as much time
to it as some others do.
