ASA news release

In my opinion, the only type of statement ASA should consider making
relative to ID is no statement at all. I am quite sympathetic with some
aspects of the ID program, less sympathetic with others, and probably mirror
personally the debate taking place within ASA now. The fact that the debate
is happening, that we take the issues seriously enough to devote energy to
them, is why I joined ASA twenty years ago: I want to listen and
(occasionally) speak up when we toss the arguments about. The fact that our
journal gives significant space to the issues says enough for me about our
"official position," which should be simply that we are a forum for
Christians to learn from one another about issues related to science and
technology.
