Dear Listmembers,

my name is Petra Tiefel and I am a lurker to this list for about 9
months. I am a food chemist and work at the Technical University of
Munich (Germany). It is very interesting to read your mails,
especially for a German, because a lot of questions, which are hot
issues discussed in your country are rarely mentioned here (for
example the YEC discussion).

Very interesting is the fact that in the US the definition of
evangelical is related with pro-death penalty and radical anti
abortion etc. I would call me an evangelical here in Germany, because
here it expresses that the faith is bases on the scripture,
especially on the evangelium of Jesus the Christ. I learned that in the future I
will be very careful to call me an evangelical in the US.

And I will spend the next 2 or 3 years in the US, because I
got a post doctoral position at the University of Minnesota at Twin
City Campus in Minneapolis. Therefore, I hope to see some of you
personally and a would be happy if listmembers living in Minneapolis
area can help me find a congregation, where I can feel at home.

Yours Petra Tiefel
