Competency? What does that have to do with commenting? It hasn't stopped
me before. ;-) How does one define competency, anyway?
Welcome to the list. I too am a mathematician (my primary field was
probability, and is becoming statistics). Thanks for your comments about
Fermat's last theorem--your account matches what I've read before (at least,
what I remember thereof), with more details.
All of us know bits & pieces about many different things, and it's great to
participate in putting in our two bits.
