I think, if I recall correctly, that he spent a large part of the book
disagreeing with Kant and Eddington. I don't recall him stating his
religious beliefs (or lack of them).

It's been 40+ years since I read these guys as a young physics student at
Carnegie Tech.
My recollection is that they both saw science & religion as "friends," i.e.
complementary
to one another. Local library is void of references so I thought
I'd ask here if my memory is correct or not. Also asking on the evolution
reflector.
